Opportunities for Individuals

Lead a workshop or forum

  • Employment Forum Facilitator: Teach residents how to have an effective and successful job search.
  • Nutrition Educator: Teach residents how to eat well on a budget through a curriculum that covers basic nutrition, cooking, food management and budgeting.
  • Create your own workshop. Volunteers have led art, yoga, writing and self esteem workshops.

Be a Resource Center supervisor and tutor
Support residents as they use the Resource Center to work toward their employment, housing, or educational goals. Supervise the center and assist the residents, as needed.

Basic Education Tutor

Tutor residents in the subjects of math, writing and science. Some want to learn these concepts to grow their general knowledge, while others are working toward their GED.

Community Service Center Mailroom Assistant

Organize and distribute mail to individuals who use us as a mailing address through our Community Service Center.

Facilitate a book club

Share your love of reading and facilitate a book club and discussion group.

Seasonal Projects

Each season brings different needs. In the winter, we need assistance with our Coat and Blanket Drive; in the summer, we need gardening assistance and yard maintenance. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator to determine our current seasonal volunteer needs.

Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator via e-mail or by calling (503) 823-4926, x4 to get involved in these volunteer opportunities.
